Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the moment an individual becomes ready to improve themselves, they immediately gain hope that the world can also improve. He asserts that those who claim the world or others cannot change are actually reflecting their own internal stagnation. When one begins to experience the taste of purity and innocence, they naturally desire to share it with everyone, leading to a state of faith beyond mere hope. He clarifies the concepts of the knower, knowledge, and the known, stating that while these appear as distinct entities in the realm of the mind, their true nature is revealed as non-dual consciousness when differentiation is destroyed. This non-dual state is synonymous with liberation. The speaker describes how the ego typically attaches itself to the role of the 'knower' and becomes dependent on the 'known' objects of the world. This dependence leads to a cycle of slavery, misery, and disappointment because worldly objects are transient and cannot provide lasting satisfaction. He explains that while the brain and body naturally function as a 'knower' by cognizing the environment, the true self should remain as a 'witness' or 'observer' rather than getting entangled. By maintaining this distance, one achieves a state of being established in the self, whereas jumping into the worldly game leads to the degradation of the ego. Acharya Prashant emphasizes the importance of an internal 'circuit breaker' or 'fuse' to protect one's spiritual peace. He suggests that while one should fulfill worldly responsibilities and care for things of utility, nothing in the world is valuable enough to justify sacrificing one's soul's tranquility. He uses the example of a hacked YouTube channel to illustrate that while efforts should be made to save useful things, one must remain unperturbed by their loss, recognizing that nothing in the material world is immortal. Ultimately, he concludes that the 'witness' is the only reality, and the objects being witnessed are essentially valueless or 'unreal' in the ultimate sense, as they lack the power to affect the liberated self.
