Description

Acharya Prashant explains that a high intellect is defined by its focus on a high goal. Intellect always requires an object, and if that object is the highest possible, the intellect itself is considered high. He emphasizes the necessity of keeping the mind humble and surrendered. Only when one acknowledges their own smallness can they recognize something as being truly great. If an individual considers themselves the highest, everything else, including the divine, appears small and insignificant. To look towards the sky and the divine, one must first accept a lower position. This humility, coupled with love for the great, allows the intellect to aim for and reach the ultimate goal. Regarding the ego, Acharya Prashant describes it as an expensive 'white elephant' that requires constant maintenance, investment, and protection at the cost of one's life and peace. Maintaining one's pride, status, and knowledge often leads to immense pain and the destruction of life. He urges the listener to decide what is more valuable: ego and its accompanying pain, or simple, effortless joy and peace. He notes that people often burn internally while maintaining a facade of pride, waiting for others to initiate reconciliation because they want both their ego and love to coexist, which is impossible. He concludes by stating that peace is our natural state; one has to do something to become restless, whereas being simple and natural requires no special effort.
