Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the conflict faced by Arjun is not personal but represents the universal situation of mankind, where both Shri Krishna and Arjun reside within every individual. He defines the concept of 'Shaman' as the act of not encouraging or fueling inner tendencies like fear, lust, anger, and jealousy once they have arisen. While one should ideally prevent these fires from starting, 'Shaman' involves dousing the fire if it does catch. He observes that people often find the heat of inner passions pleasurable and fail to see that these hot things eventually reduce them to ashes. He urges the listener to outsmart time by seeing the ultimate end of these passions today rather than waiting decades to realize it. By putting out the inner fire, one achieves immortality regardless of the body's fate, whereas those consumed by inner fire are already dead before their physical end. This process of dealing with the inner fire is closely related to dispassion.
