Description

Acharya Prashant addresses the concept of time travel, dismissing it as a fantasy that entertains the mind but lacks spiritual or practical reality. He explains that the future is not a predetermined destination one can travel to, but rather a result of the choices made by a conscious person in the present. Since consciousness implies freedom and an infinite number of possible futures, the idea of traveling to a specific future is illogical. He further clarifies that while physics discusses the slowing of time at high speeds, the physical limitations of mass and energy make such travel impossible for a human being, rendering the discussion pointless from a spiritual perspective. Regarding the 'sixth sense', Acharya Prashant identifies it as the mind itself, which the scriptures classify as the eleventh sense or the sixth sense of knowledge. He explains that what people often call intuition or a 'gut feel' is actually the biological deposit of millions of years of evolutionary experiences stored in the body's cells. While these instincts were essential for survival in primitive conditions—such as a rabbit sensing a predator or humans needing rapid procreation—they are often outdated and dangerous in the modern world. He notes that women historically developed these instincts more due to physical vulnerability, but emphasizes that these biological impulses should not be mistaken for wisdom. Finally, Acharya Prashant advises against trusting sensory inputs, emotions, or instincts blindly, as they are all received by the ego, which is inherently partial and incomplete. Drawing from Jain philosophy and the concept of Anekantavada, he explains that all human knowledge is limited and non-absolute. Instead of relying on 'vibes' or biological signals, one should practice being a witness to the mind and use inquiry and wisdom to transcend the animalistic past. True spirituality lies in transcending the senses and the mind to reach a state of completeness.
