Description

Acharya Prashant explains that once a person becomes an observer, the question of whether anything needs to be done becomes irrelevant. He clarifies that the flow of life and the functions of the body, such as the heart beating or the eyes seeing, are natural processes that happen according to their own nature. These functions do not require an external 'doer' or the ego's intervention. He emphasizes that being a 'non-doer' does not mean the hands or feet stop moving; rather, it means one should stop trying to control them and let them function naturally. The various parts of the human system, like the intellect and consciousness, are parts of the supreme creator and know how to function without the ego's interference. He points out that the ego constantly seeks to claim credit for natural processes it cannot actually control. For instance, if a person truly controlled their heartbeat, they would be able to restart it at will after a heart attack, which is impossible. The ego acts like an incompetent master who destroys a system just to show authority. Acharya Prashant suggests that the sense of being a 'responsible' doer is the root of all stress and tension. He concludes that true happiness is found only when one frees themselves from the grip of the ego and realizes that the world and the body function perfectly well without the ego's perceived management.
