Acharya Prashant explains that when one realizes that personal trauma is not an isolated event but a general phenomenon affecting millions, the sense of personal hurt diminishes and is replaced by a solid sense of responsibility. He emphasizes that the problem of exploitation, including childhood sexual trauma, is not limited to specific families or instances but is a general problem rooted in the corruption of human consciousness. Despite progress in science, technology, and education, human beings remain slaves to animal instincts, exploiting the vulnerable—whether they are children or animals—whenever an opportunity arises. He points out that the tendency to exploit a helpless child is dimensionally the same as the tendency to slaughter animals for sensory pleasure. Both belong to the same pattern of a corrupt consciousness that views life through the lens of consumption. Acharya Prashant argues that modern culture, media, and education reinforce the idea that the purpose of life is personal happiness and consumption. When consumption is prioritized above all else, individuals become prepared to exploit anything or anyone, including vulnerable family members or entire species, to satisfy their desires. To address these deep-seated issues, Acharya Prashant asserts that more stringent laws or external monitoring are insufficient because they do not reach the root of the problem. The fundamental solution lies in spiritual education, specifically through wisdom literature like the Upanishads and Vedanta, to transform human consciousness. He encourages those who feel sensitive to the cruelty in the world to use that exposure to harden their resolve and increase their sense of urgency. Every act of ignorance or exploitation should serve as a reminder to work harder and more ferociously in the battle for consciousness.
