Acharya Prashant addresses a questioner who feels guilty for missing spiritual sessions while participating in small-scale vegan outreach programs. He explains that true veganism must stem from spiritual understanding and self-realization rather than being a mere social activity or a trend. He points out the irony of missing profound spiritual teachings to engage in small gatherings, emphasizing that the most influential vegan outreach is already happening through the dissemination of spiritual wisdom. He warns that without a foundation in spirituality, veganism can become a tool for the ego to feel superior or a means for commercial exploitation, such as selling overpriced 'vegan' products. Acharya Prashant asserts that compassion and non-violence are not mere policies or food choices but are natural outcomes of spiritual awakening and the realization of non-duality. He criticizes the modern trend where veganism is treated as an elite fashion statement or a 'Sunday club' activity while the rest of one's life remains unchanged and driven by greed or ignorance. He highlights that veganism should ideally be simple and affordable, yet it is often marketed as an expensive luxury. He concludes by quoting Kabir Saheb to emphasize that true mercy and religion can only exist where there is no greed or ego, and where there is a deep understanding of the essence of life.
