Description

Acharya Prashant explains that true value is not found in prestigious jobs or societal standards, but in seeing things clearly and living according to what is truly valuable. He distinguishes between religion and spirituality, noting that while both aim to bring the mind to its core of peace, religion often becomes an organized, frozen pattern of beliefs, whereas spirituality remains free and fluid. He describes spirituality as being closer to the center of truth, while religion forms a larger, more distant circle around that same center. The universal essence of all religions is the human thirst for rest, closure, and liberation, which is why religions vary superficially based on cultural contexts while remaining identical in their ultimate purpose. He emphasizes that the fundamental human condition is one of discontentment and a desire for liberation, a theme that remains unchanged across time and technology. This quest for liberation is often misunderstood, leading individuals to enter into various bondages in the hope of finding freedom. Acharya Prashant asserts that liberation is the 'existential jackpot'—reaching a point where no new beginnings or endings are necessary. He argues that this desire for freedom is shared by all sentient beings, including animals. Therefore, violence toward others is essentially violence toward oneself, as all conscious beings are united in their hunger for love and liberation. Finally, he discusses the importance of compassion and its practical application in modernity through veganism. He states that one cannot be spiritual while remaining violent or consuming flesh, as spirituality is rooted in intelligence and the recognition of shared suffering. He urges individuals to stop seeking self-gratification within the 'prison' of their current existence and instead focus on the goal of freedom. By rejecting evident falseness and standing up for the truth, one develops the sensitivity to appreciate beauty and works toward the liberation of all beings, which is the only way to achieve one's own redemption.
