Description

Acharya Prashant explains that Maya does not have a final move; it remains as long as the body exists. He warns that one must remain constantly vigilant and alert, as Maya can strike even during one's final breath if there is a momentary lapse in awareness. He emphasizes that there is no point where one can claim to be completely beyond its reach, as Maya does not care for concepts like liberation. The only defense is continuous alertness, which manifests as understanding and love. One must either remain perpetually awake or in constant remembrance of the Truth. Regarding surrender in daily life, Acharya Prashant suggests focusing on 'non-surrender' rather than surrender. Since the ultimate Truth has no name, form, or location, talking about surrendering to it is often futile. Instead, one should stop surrendering to the wrong things—greed, fear, and ignorance. He points out that most of these 'wrong places' are internal rather than external. We often surrender to our own inner darkness, such as desires, attachments, and fears. If one stops yielding to these internal enemies, external challenges become manageable. He concludes that once a person stops surrendering to internal weaknesses, their relationship with the world changes from one of enmity to one of compassion. Such a person sees others not as enemies but as helpless individuals in need of assistance. True surrender to the Truth is expressed in the world as service and compassion. This service is not slavery but is akin to the way an incarnation or a physician serves humanity—by providing what is truly needed for their well-being.
