Description

Acharya Prashant explains that time can be either a friend or an enemy depending on how it is utilized. Time becomes a friend when one avoids the inauspicious and uses it for the auspicious, whereas it becomes an enemy when the auspicious is postponed. He emphasizes living in alignment with the 'timeless' or 'the flash of lightning,' which represents sudden, effortless realization that does not require time or preparation. This realization is a complete revelation that leaves no trace and has no prior signs. When one is connected to this timeless dimension, time can be used meaningfully; otherwise, it remains a source of bondage. He notes that while intellectual understanding usually takes time and effort, true spiritual realization is instantaneous and beyond verification or doubt in the moment it occurs. Acharya Prashant further discusses the nature of awareness, stating that it is possible to live in continuous, unbroken consciousness. He compares the human condition to an actor who becomes so engrossed in a role that they forget their true identity, a state known as ignorance or 'Avidya.' He clarifies that spiritual flashes are not supernatural but are actually one's natural state. He warns against the mind's tendency to immediately try to capture or analyze these moments of insight, which brings one back into the realm of time. To maintain this state, one must have faith in what is revealed and not dismiss it as an illusion or a trick of the mind. He concludes by advising that if life feels like a struggle or a source of suffering, it is a sign that something has been misunderstood, and one must actively seek to move toward peace rather than dismissing the world as a mere illusion while still suffering from its effects.
