Acharya Prashant explains that the mind is incapable of knowing a patternless life because all knowledge is inherently a pattern. For the mind to perceive or understand something, that object must have a discernible shape, boundary, or consistency. Truth, being without contours or fixed patterns, cannot be known by the intellect or senses; it can only be lived. The desire to 'know' the truth or a patternless life is actually a demand for security. Knowledge provides a false sense of security by allowing one to prepare for the future, whereas the truly fearless do not demand such assurance. This constant seeking of security is rooted in a fear of living and a disloyalty to the present moment. He further discusses how humans have wandered away from their 'ancient home'—a state of unconditional security—into the 'jungle' of worldly pleasures. While in this jungle, people feel terrified and insecure, yet they refuse to return to the source of total security. Insecurity arises because one has refused the security that is already on offer. Acharya Prashant emphasizes that fear only exists in the illusion of the future, not in the present. When the future becomes more important than the present, it rivals the position of God. True godliness is immediate and urgent; it does not involve postponement or promises of future delivery. If something is real, it is demanded and granted right now. Addressing the difficulty of accepting this realization, Acharya Prashant notes that people often feel a sense of truth in a favorable environment but fear losing it later. He asserts that if realization can happen in the present moment, it can happen anywhere. The hindrance to this acceptance is one's own refusal to let go of precious attachments. He uses the metaphor of a patient who has the prescription and the medicine but refuses to take it. The ultimate solution is always available, but the individual must stop acting out the ritual of seeking and instead allow themselves to be 'penetrated' by the truth, making space for the divine immediately.
