Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the very act of identifying oneself as a man is a form of knowledge from which all other knowledge proceeds. He asserts that once an individual accepts the label of being a man or a human being, they are bound to live within a world of expanding identities and concentric circles of knowledge. This fundamental identification is not a statement of fact but a conditioned identity that carries with it the limitations of birth, death, fear, and the desire for security. He suggests that if one attempts to negate their dependence on knowledge due to the conflict and strife it causes, they must eventually confront and negate this primary identity of being a man. To truly be a human being, one must go beyond the normal definitions and limitations associated with that label, as these conventional identities are the source of human suffering.
