Description

Acharya Prashant clarifies that liberation is for the one who is in bondage and suffering, not for the soul, which is eternally free. He advises looking at things simply rather than getting lost in complex definitions. He points out the hypocrisy of claiming to be the soul while being deeply affected by physical needs like food, sleep, and bodily harm. He emphasizes that as long as one feels pain from a physical blow or an insult, one is identified with the body and the mind, not the soul. Therefore, the claim 'I am the soul' is often used as a convenient excuse rather than a lived reality. He explains that a person is essentially a mind that should strive to love peace, which is the soul. While one may never fully merge into the soul, one can come very close to it, like an inseparable embrace. He addresses the paradox of the divine being both infinitely far and closer than the heart. The distance between an individual and the truth might remain, but the intention to reduce that distance is what matters. He distinguishes between a wise person and an ignorant one by their intent; while both may perform similar physical actions like eating, the quality and purpose behind their actions are fundamentally different. Acharya Prashant concludes by stating that the goal of spirituality is the purification of the body and the mind. He rejects high-sounding spiritual labels, insisting that one must acknowledge their current state as a physical and mental being. The objective is to keep the body and mind clean and refined. He urges the listener to focus on their immediate reality rather than hiding behind spiritual theories, as true spirituality lies in the practical improvement of one's current existence.
