Description

Acharya Prashant addresses the question of why Jesus Christ is referred to as the only son of God, despite other enlightened beings existing before and after him. He explains that humans assign names and identities based on individuality and ego. In the animal kingdom, creatures like elephants or rabbits lack a distinct personal ego, so they are seen as a collective species. Humans, however, possess complex egos and personalities, necessitating individual names. He clarifies that while ordinary humans are defined by their personalities, prophets and enlightened beings are those whose personalities have completely dissolved. Just as animals have not yet developed a distinct personality, a prophet has transcended it. Therefore, at the level of ultimate truth, there is no difference between one enlightened being and another. He emphasizes that the essence of all prophets, avatars, and sages is identical because they have moved beyond the limitations of time, space, and individual identity. Whether it is Shri Krishna, Kabir Saheb, or Jesus Christ, their internal reality is the same. The statement that Jesus is the 'only' son of God should be understood as a declaration that all who are truly one with God are essentially the same single entity. Acharya Prashant points out that the conflicts between different religions arise because people view these figures through the lens of their own unconsciousness and ego, treating them as separate historical individuals rather than manifestations of the same universal truth. He concludes that while there are many categories and levels of bondage, there are no categories in liberation; a liberated soul is simply free, and in that freedom, all distinctions vanish.
