Description

Acharya Prashant explains that to reach the Absolute, one must offer oneself absolutely, which means 100%. One cannot offer oneself partially and still hope to reach the Absolute. Since the Absolute is not partial, one cannot make a part payment and obtain it. Therefore, the worst situation is of those who make a 99.9% payment. The same fate awaits you whether you pay 99.9% or 0.9%; you will not gain deliverance. If you are not to gain deliverance, there is no point in paying 99.9%; you are better off not paying anything at all. He further states that it is not at all sufficient to talk of the Truth; one has to live the Truth. The Truth must sit not merely on your tongue but in all parts of your body. Your hands, legs, eyes, and ears must express it, not merely your tongue or your pen. Finally, Acharya Prashant discusses Karma. He explains that the same thing can happen to two people, and they might respond very differently. Since the external event is the same, something inside them must be different. This "thing inside" comes from the accumulated set of your choices, which is what is called Karma. You bring yourself to a stage where you will respond negatively or favorably to an incident. That is your doing. Things, situations, and external stimuli are just external, and you have no control over them. However, you potentially have all possible control over the one within who responds to external situations. That is where your authority lies and what you can control. That is life, the entire purpose of life, and that is freedom. Otherwise, you are just a slave of situations that can come and drive you mad, which is no way to live.
