Description

Acharya Prashant narrates the story of a newlywed Gopi who, despite having a family and social ties, is drawn toward Shri Krishna. He explains that Shri Krishna facilitates this union by creating a situation involving a calf, eventually touching the Gopi with His flute. This touch transforms her consciousness, making her appear insane to the world. The speaker clarifies that what society considers a healthy mind is merely a state of consciousness that conforms to social norms and education. True health, however, implies being established in stillness, which is often at odds with the restless, worldly mind that is trapped in helplessness and dissatisfaction. The speaker highlights that the Gopi’s dissatisfaction with her comfortable worldly life is proof of her soul's deep, prior acquaintance with true satisfaction. He notes that while the journey toward the Divine may seem to begin with individual effort, the final steps are always completed by the Divine. Shri Krishna, even as an incarnation, respects the rules of the world while performing His play. The unconsciousness the Gopi experiences is not a loss of physical senses but the removal of the limited self, fear, and the need for social prestige. Truth does not grant external miracles but removes the internal suffering and bondage of the mind. Acharya Prashant describes the transition from a fear-based social life to a divine-centered life as a period of temporary chaos. Society labels this freedom as madness because it cannot tolerate a mind that is no longer its slave. He compares human consciousness to a screen or a radio that is stuck on a single, repetitive frequency of worldly noise, unaware of its potential to manifest the divine. To reach the Truth, one must stay committed to the path and resist the valid excuses that tempt one to abandon the journey. The ultimate goal is to connect with the immortal, as worldly opinions are fleeting while the bond with the Divine is eternal.
