Description

Acharya Prashant narrates a story from the Ramayana where Shri Rama accidentally pierces a frog with his bow while bathing in Pampa Sarovar. When Shri Rama asks the dying frog why it did not cry out for help, the frog replies that while it calls upon Shri Rama when attacked by a snake, it remains silent when Shri Rama himself is the cause of its pain. This story serves as a metaphor for the two types of suffering: worldly suffering and spiritual suffering. Worldly suffering is caused by our attachment to the world, while spiritual suffering arises from the process of detaching ourselves from that which is valueless but to which we are emotionally bound.
