Description

Acharya Prashant explains that intelligence is not derived from past experiences or habits, as life is perpetually fresh and new. He asserts that the ego seeks to repeat the past through habituation, whereas intelligence acts spontaneously in the present moment. According to him, whatever is done in intelligence is inherently right, regardless of societal judgment, while actions born out of conditioning are always wrong. He identifies symptoms of the absence of intelligence as boredom, frustration, confusion, and anxiety, noting that intelligence itself is not a thought but a spontaneous expression. He further clarifies the relationship between intelligence and the physical body, stating that while the brain has evolved to become the seat of intelligence, intelligence itself does not evolve. He describes intelligence as the capacity to observe and know, which requires a specific physical configuration to manifest. Acharya Prashant points out that while animals are complete slaves to their physical conditioning, such as food and sex, human beings possess the unique capacity to transcend physical needs through intelligence. However, he observes that humans often trade physical conditioning for social conditioning, which can lead to further enslavement.
