Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the human mind is habitually driven by fear and desire, constantly seeking support because it feels incomplete. He uses the analogy of a child learning to ride a bicycle who fears falling and repeatedly asks his father for support. The child is so consumed by fear that he fails to realize his father is already holding the bicycle, which is the only reason he has not fallen. Similarly, individuals often complain about a lack of support while failing to see that their very existence and ability to function are evidence of a support that is already present. If one had to consciously manage every biological process, such as heartbeat or digestion, life would be impossible. The fact that these processes happen automatically proves that a greater support is already operational. He further critiques the nature of prayer, suggesting that asking for more strength or support is an indirect accusation that the divine has been stingy or insufficient. True prayer is silence and the cessation of demands. He points out that every morning, the entire world and one's own sense of self are restored after being lost in deep sleep. This daily 'rebirth' and the gift of memory are manifestations of that same support. Even the illusion of Maya is a shadow of the Truth. Whether one experiences the Truth directly or remains caught in Maya, one is always within the realm of the divine. Therefore, there is nothing left to ask for, as everything necessary has already been provided.
