Acharya Prashant explains that duality exists so that questions can be asked and answers can be given. Without duality, there would be no one to speak or listen, and the entire play of existence would not be possible. While non-duality is the foundation of duality, duality is necessary for non-duality to be expressed or discussed. He notes that some believe the question of why existence exists is foolish, yet one answer is that the Divine wanted someone to admire and praise Him. By separating Himself from Himself, the Divine can look upon His creation and appreciate it.
