Description

Acharya Prashant explains that consciousness is inseparable from its content, asserting that there is no such thing as an empty consciousness. He argues that consciousness is inherently objective and conditioned, much like a slave. He critiques intellectuals, psychologists, and neurologists for focusing solely on the 'slave' of consciousness while ignoring the 'master' or the Lord. He suggests that trying to understand the mind using the mind itself is as nonsensical as trying to repair a broken car using that same broken car. The ego's fear of mysticism and the unknowable prevents people from accessing the truth, as they prefer to remain within the narrow confines of intellectualism. He clarifies that while consciousness and mind are broadly analogous, awareness is the foundation of consciousness. Awareness, or pure consciousness, is described as zero consciousness and involves not identifying with the contents of the mind. He emphasizes that the domain of consciousness will persist as long as the body exists, and one cannot simply drain it of its contents. The path to truth and awareness is described as taking a single step backward into the abyss of the unknown. This step is the most difficult because it requires a total change in dimension and the dissolution of the self, which is why the Lord remains inaccessible despite being so close.
