Description

Acharya Prashant addresses the common misconception that a human being can be completely and permanently freed from their fundamental tendencies in a single stroke. He explains that as long as the body exists, the 'I-tendency' or ego, which identifies with the body and its security, will also persist. The existence of the body itself is evidence of this ego. Therefore, spiritual practice is not a one-time task but a lifelong necessity, much like breathing, eating, or exercising. He points out the irony in people wanting to finish spiritual cleansing quickly while being perfectly willing to continue worldly activities and bodily maintenance indefinitely. This hurry to 'finish' spirituality often stems from a desire for the status of being 'enlightened' rather than a true love for liberation. He further clarifies that liberation should not be viewed as a destination, a point in time, or a specific event, but as an eternal and joyful journey. True liberation belongs to those who are constantly moving toward it. He warns that the moment someone claims to be fully liberated and stops their practice, they fall into the deepest bondage. There are two types of people who get stuck: those who never start the journey due to worldly distractions, and those who prematurely declare their journey finished. Acharya Prashant emphasizes that the journey itself is liberation. One must keep walking with the ultimate truth in their heart, understanding that the process of spiritual seeking must be constant and perpetual as long as one is alive.
