Acharya Prashant explains that Shri Krishna identifies himself as both immortality and death, and as both truth and untruth, because humans live within nature. Nature is governed by the three modes of material nature, which is Shri Krishna's own illusory power or Maya. He clarifies that there are two ways of living: the illusory life and the spiritual life. The illusory life is a segment of time that begins with birth and ends with death. This horizontal expansion in time is what people commonly call life, but spirituality teaches that this is not true life because it is constantly moving toward an end.
