Acharya Prashant explains that human problems persist because we fail to address their root cause, which he identifies as the ego-tendency or primordial animalistic nature within man. He compares our superficial approach to treating cancer partially, allowing it to spread elsewhere. While humans appear civilized and use modern technology, their inner desires remain as primitive and destructive as those of animals in the jungle. He emphasizes that the entire domain of Vedanta and the Bhagavad Gita is dedicated to placating this ancient animalistic tendency. Most people focus on clipping the branches of their problems to remain blissfully ignorant and avoid admitting that their entire life center is diseased. This delusion, or maya, causes individuals to suffer while simultaneously wanting to maintain their suffering state by only addressing minor symptoms. Acharya Prashant asserts that scriptures like the Bhagavad Gita and the Upanishads act as intruders or circuit breakers designed to disrupt our natural predisposition toward bondage and suffering, leading us toward truth and liberation.
