Acharya Prashant discusses Chapter 16 of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita, where Shri Krishna distinguishes between the divine man and the 'asuri' or demonic man. The defining characteristic of an asuri person is the rejection and derision of spiritual scriptures in favor of acting on personal impulses and desires. Such individuals believe their own feelings and experiences are the ultimate truth, equating their lack of restraint with freedom. Shri Krishna warns that those who set aside the scriptures to follow their own whims will never attain perfection, happiness, or the supreme goal. Instead, he advises that the scriptures should be the authority for determining what ought to be done and what should be avoided, as the alternative is to be commanded by the foolish and harmful ego.
