Description

Acharya Prashant explains that all thoughts are fundamentally rooted in the past and are limited by an individual's prior experiences. He asserts that it is impossible to think or imagine something that has not been previously experienced, as the mind relies entirely on the past for its content. Even future imaginations are merely past experiences presented in new forms. Therefore, a truly new future requires liberation from the constraints of the past. He distinguishes between low thoughts and high thoughts. Low thoughts are described as random, uncontrolled, and repetitive, leading to an infinite cycle of mental noise similar to the uncontrolled growth of cancer cells. In contrast, high thoughts are those conducted with such consciousness that they lead to immediate understanding. Once understanding occurs, the process of thinking naturally dissolves because it has fulfilled its purpose. High thinking is characterized by its ability to move toward the exit of the mind's limited hall of experiences. Acharya Prashant further explains that the mind operates under immutable laws, much like the laws of physics such as gravity or thermodynamics. While modern education focuses on external objects, it neglects the mind, which he calls the mother of all objects. He suggests that by observing the mind's movements with attention, one can stop its random wandering. Understanding these mental laws through self-observation is the key to moving beyond the limitations of the past and achieving clarity.
