Description

Acharya Prashant clarifies that God-realization is not a sensory experience or a specific taste that one can describe. He explains that experiences belong to the 'experiencer'—the natural, physical entity that interacts with the world. Using the analogy of a mobile phone receiving signals, he notes that while the device experiences the signals, the self is distinct from them. Liberation or salvation does not mean that experiences stop; rather, the restless consciousness that once sought peace and fulfillment through these experiences becomes detached and content. Before liberation, a person is eager for new experiences to escape boredom and incompleteness, but a liberated person allows experiences to happen without expecting anything from them. He further illustrates this with the example of drinking water. When the throat is thirsty, the body and intellect work together to find and consume water, providing relief to the throat. The liberated self remains a witness to this process without being the one who is thirsty or the one seeking fulfillment. God-realization is defined as being free from the grip of experiences and remaining neutral toward them. Even after liberation, the body continues to feel heat or cold, and the mind continues to seek comfort like a blanket in winter, but the individual no longer stands like a beggar before these worldly plays. One becomes complete within themselves, viewing the world as a beautiful game that requires no personal gain.
