Acharya Prashant explains that being wise or spiritual does not mean becoming impervious or unrelated to the world. He describes two extremes of the mind that are essentially the same. At one extreme is the mind that allows itself to be ruled by the world, following all its trends, interests, religions, and traditions. At the other extreme is the mind of the renouncer, who becomes insensitive to the world, claims to have given it up, and lets it meet its own destiny. The speaker states that these two minds are just one, both being self-confined. There is another quality of the mind, which is that of the compassionate teacher. This mind is deeply troubled by the world, yet remains untroubled within itself. The speaker gives examples of Mahavir, Buddha, Nanak, and Kabir, who traveled and engaged with the world. He quotes Kabir Saheb, "Seeing the whole world burning, Kabir became sad," to show that a spiritual person is not beyond human emotions. Spirituality does not mean becoming a superhuman who experiences nothing. He further quotes Kabir, "The whole world is happy, it eats and sleeps. The servant Kabir is sad, he is awake and weeps." Kabir weeps for the world because he loves it, whereas ordinary people weep for their narrow self-interests, like losing money or being insulted. The speaker advises not to become someone who doesn't get affected, as it is no achievement or matter of pride. He encourages being affected and weeping for the world. Spirituality is not about taking away one's earthly nature. While there is the sky in your heart, the rest of you is earth; let the earth blossom. One should not be ashamed of their own flowers, and when they flower, relationships will form. The speaker criticizes the so-called yogi who fears being touched or distracted, calling it a sign of a fragile aloneness. The one who is afraid of being touched is too weak to even weep or laugh. The wise person is not afraid of acting foolishly because they are so clean that they can be drenched in mud and still remain clean. They are not afraid of being vulnerable because they are very, very strong. You must know that no wound can hurt you too deeply, so be prepared to take the wounds. When you know how strong you are, you are not afraid of taking risks. You are indispensable to the universe and cannot be destroyed. Therefore, you can play.
