Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the object of love is so gigantic and total that it cannot be classified as a standard object. Unlike ordinary objects that allow space for the dualistic subject to remain, the object of love is so compelling that it leaves no room for the subject to survive. Consequently, if the subject is gone, the object can no longer be called an object; it is instead referred to as truth or God. He clarifies that love involves neither giving nor receiving because both actions require the presence of a giver or receiver, which reinforces the ego. In love, there is no doing of the doer. Using the analogy of a small civilian who destroys an enemy ammunition depot by sacrificing himself, Acharya Prashant illustrates that love is the attempt of the impossible. It is a task so large that it cannot be accomplished if one seeks to protect or preserve oneself. Love requires the demolition of great structures and the defeat of formidable enemies, demanding the entirety of one's being. If one prioritizes safety or survival, love cannot happen.
