Acharya Prashant explains that there is no fundamental dichotomy between the pursuit of inner liberation and the struggle for external freedom. Using the example of the Indian freedom struggle, he clarifies that leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, and Dr. Ambedkar were not merely seeking a change in political leadership but were aiming for the total emancipation of the people from all forms of bondage. Political subjugation is only a small, visible part of the overall dependencies that enslave an individual. Therefore, the work of a spiritual sage like Shri Ramana Maharshi and that of a political freedom fighter are essentially directed toward the same goal: the complete liberation of the individual.
