Consequently, the mind attributes names, forms, and colors to the formless Truth, creating personal deities or 'Ishta Devata'. While this process is intended to be a beautiful expression of devotion to help the seeker connect with the divine, it is often misused by the ego. The mind frequently exploits this concession by creating superstitions, myths, and rituals that serve its own desires rather than spiritual growth.
