Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the thirst of the soul cannot be quenched by worldly objects or actions. He emphasizes that when a person feels a sensation of insufficiency or unrest, their natural instinct is to run toward the world for a solution. However, Kabir Saheb advises individuals to enter their own bodies and understand the nature of this thirst before seeking a remedy. One must investigate who is thirsty and what the definition of that thirst is, rather than acting out of conditioned patterns and panic. By looking within, one can observe the structure of the mind, including how hope, fear, and insecurities arise and influence behavior. Acharya Prashant further clarifies Kabir Saheb's metaphor of the swan flying to unknown skies to drink water without a beak. He explains that while the body belongs to the earth and its thirst is satisfied by earthly water, the true self requires a 'heavenly nectar' that the earth cannot provide. To find real peace, one must transcend the gross form and the identification with the body. He encourages learning from experience that earthly pleasures have never been sufficient. By belonging to the 'beloved' or the divine while the body remains on earth, one can find true fulfillment and awareness.
