Description

Acharya Prashant explains that the highest form of knowledge has historically been transmitted from teacher to disciple through proximity and words, rather than through specific methods or physical rituals. He points out that ancient scriptures like the Upanishads, Ashtavakra Gita, and the Vedas do not provide methods but offer direct wisdom through dialogue. He criticizes the modern obsession with physical methods, such as wearing specific beads, adopting physical postures, or using material objects, describing these as lower-level approaches that have emerged much later. According to him, the simplest and purest way to awaken consciousness is to sit face-to-face and engage in conversation. He argues that those who cannot understand a direct truth will not benefit from any method, as the mind often uses methods as a way to escape the silence and peace of listening. Acharya Prashant emphasizes that there is no method superior to 'Satsang'—sitting quietly and listening. He asserts that once a person listens attentively, they gain the inner strength and clarity to discover their own solutions and methods for the various situations life presents. He warns against falling into the trap of superficial rituals like wearing rings or hanging photos, stating that these only provide a false sense of comfort that eventually shatters. True methods must arise from one's own internal light and understanding.
